Queensland a popular choice for skilled migrants, for its nice weather and great job opportunities, is currently looking for people to fill a range of skill shortages—from engineers to farmers, midwives to IT.
The Australian third largest economy started processing Expression of Interest (EOI) from July 25th under the new Skilled Occupation List and the new Business and Investment criteria.
Queensland nominates skilled migrants in occupations that are in demand for both provisional visas and permanent residency, which allow you to live and work in Queensland. The list is applicable for those who are not currently working in their nominated occupation in Queensland.
To be eligible for Queensland Skilled nomination-Subclass 190, visa applicants must meet a minimum of two years’ work experience post qualification in the nominated occupation, positive skills assessment and English language ability, besides the DIBP requirements.
For Skilled-Nomination or Sponsored Regional – Subclass 489, visa applicants are required to meet a minimum of two years’ work experience post qualification in the nominated occupation, or have an offer of employment for 12 months in regional Queensland in the nominated or a closely related occupation.
